Activation campaign for the launch of Ubisoft’s The Division
The Concept / Experience
Cash Contagion transformed an everyday banknote into the gateway to the campaign. Users entered its serial number to uncover its journey, history and potential contamination, connecting a familiar real-world object to the fictional pandemic at the heart of The Division.
Forensic analysis can detect not only minute traces of cocaine but also other types of drugs such as heroin and THC, the active ingredient in cannabis. Today more than 50% of banknotes seized by police contain traces of cocaine.
My role was to translate that concept into a compelling digital experience through visual design, motion and interaction.
Website
I developed the visual language of the website around the idea of forensic analysis, combining imagery, typography, data and motion to progressively reveal the story behind each banknote.
Working closely with the developer throughout production, I refined layouts, interactions and responsive behaviour to ensure the experience remained immersive and intuitive across desktop and mobile.

Motion Design
Motion was integral to the experience rather than a decorative layer. Transitions, data reveals and atmospheric sequences progressively exposed each stage of the banknote’s contamination, reinforcing the tension and forensic character of the campaign.
I designed and produced the motion sequences to work as part of the wider visual system, maintaining a consistent language between the interactive experience and campaign film.
